The society of Chatham-Kent, Ont., boasts the peak rent properties in Canada — if only on the board of the new Monopoly Canada game.

Twenty-two Canadians cities were publicly added to the new edition of the game on Tuesday, after Canadians cast their votes for their cities of choice.

Cities big and small made the list, which includes Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, Kelowna, B.C., Kawartha Lakes, Ont., and Banff, Alta.

Voting opened online for six weeks earlier this year for Canadians who wanted to select which cities would be included in the new version of the board game.

the people were able to choose from 65 pre-selected cities, although two spots were held for cities selected through a wild card vote for any city from across Canada.

Chatham-Kent won the top spot and as such was given the illustrious Boardwalk place on the game. Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu in Quebec nabbed Park Place.

First out in 1935, Monopoly has been distributed in 43 languages in 111 countries. More than 275 million copies of Monopoly have been sold.

The new edition will also include Canadian cultural events and scenarios for players. Players can gamble at the casino in Niagara Falls, Ont., and skate on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa.

“We hope that Canadian Monopoly fans will enjoy playing on a game board that includes an interesting mix of our cities featuring all of the dynamic cultures, sights and history of this country,” said Michelle Sinclair, brand manager for Hasbro Canada, in a news statement.

The following 22 cities earned spots on the Monopoly Canada, listed from highest-coloured spaces to lowest rent properties:

Dark Blue: Chatham-Kent, Ont., Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Que.

Green: Calgary, Sarnia, Ont., Edmonton

Yellow: Windsor, Ont., Quebec City, Trois-Rivieres, Que.

Red: Medicine Hat, Alta., Gatineau, Que., Shawinigan, Que.

Orange: Kawartha Lakes, Ont., Chilliwack, B.C., Montreal

Magenta: Kelowna, B.C., North Bay, Ont., St. John’s, N.L.

Light Blue: Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver

Brown: Beauceville, Que., Banff, Alta
